Overview

Renal Tracker is an offline-first record-keeping app for fluid intake, urine output, and optional health readings. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected. Renal Tracker is not medical advice — plan values should come from your care team.

Information you enter

The app processes information you choose to enter, which can include:

• Fluid intake, drink names, serving sizes, notes, dates, and times
• Urine-output volumes, notes, dates, and times
• Optional health readings such as weight, blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and custom notes
• Care-plan settings (for example dialysis or post-transplant mode and daily fluid plans)
• Custom drinks and unit preferences

This can be sensitive health information. Treat it accordingly.

On-device storage

By default, records stay in the app’s private storage on your device. The app does not require an account, does not include third-party advertising or analytics, and does not sell your data. The free download may show a first-party support banner (not a third-party ad network); you can remove it with a one-time in-app purchase, and early App Store purchasers may receive that benefit automatically.

Optional iCloud sync

If you turn on Sync with iCloud, records are stored in your private iCloud database (CloudKit), encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Only you can access them with your Apple ID. You can turn sync off at any time. Enabling sync merges on-device records with your private iCloud data; it does not send records to the publisher.

Optional Apple Health

From version 0.2.0, if you turn on Sync with Apple Health in Settings, Renal Tracker can:

• Write selected vitals you log — weight, blood pressure, blood glucose, and heart rate — to Apple Health (HealthKit)
• Read / import weight, blood pressure, and blood glucose from Apple Health when you choose (for example via Import from Apple Health)

Continuous Apple Watch heart-rate samples are not imported. HealthKit access stays under your Apple ID and the permissions you grant in iOS. Renal Tracker never changes your fluid plan or care-plan numbers based on Apple Health data. You can turn Health sync off at any time. Samples already written to Apple Health remain there until you remove them in the Health app or manage app access under Health → profile → Apps.

Apple Watch and other Apple features

If you use the Watch companion, widgets, or Siri shortcuts, related data may be processed on your paired devices and through Apple system frameworks. Those features stay under your Apple ID and device controls.

In-app purchases

Purchases (such as removing the support banner) are processed by Apple. The publisher does not receive your full payment card details. Apple may associate purchase status with your Apple ID so Restore Purchases can work across your devices.

Exports and backups

CSV, JSON, and PDF exports are created only when you choose. Exported files may contain sensitive data. Once saved outside the app, they are controlled by you and by any storage or person you share them with. Renal Tracker does not automatically upload exports.

Retention and deletion

Records remain until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete individual entries or remove tracking data from Settings. Uninstalling the app removes its local data. If iCloud sync was enabled, copies may remain in your private iCloud storage until you delete them through Apple’s iCloud settings or by managing data in the app while sync is on. Apple Health samples are retained according to Apple Health / your choices above.

The publisher does not retain a server-side copy of your health records.

Security

Protect your device with a passcode or Face ID / Touch ID, keep iOS and watchOS up to date, and store exported files carefully. No method of storage is completely risk-free.

Children

Renal Tracker is intended for adults managing their own records and is not designed or directed to children.

Renal Tracker is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice. Fluid plans and clinical thresholds should come from your renal or transplant team.

Changes to this policy

If data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes are released. The effective date above identifies the current version.
